Hawkeyes sweep Huge Ten weekly honors

The Iowa males’s basketball crew swept the person awards this week within the Huge Ten Convention. For the second straight week, freshman middle Owen Freeman was named freshman of the week. This week he was joined by graduate switch Ben Krikke, who was named Huge Ten Participant of the Week.

Krikke averaged 24.5 factors and 7 rebounds, whereas capturing 66 p.c from the sphere (21-of-32) in a pair of video games at No. 8 Creighton and Arkansas State. Freeman averaged 7.5 factors, 2.5 blocks and two rebounds, whereas capturing 55 p.c (6-of-11) from the ground.

It’s the first time because the 2019-20 season that Iowa has swept the Huge Ten weekly honors (Luka Garza (Participant), CJ Fredrick (Freshman).  Freeman, in the meantime, is the primary Hawkeye freshman to earn the excellence in consecutive weeks.

Krikke’s Participant of the Week honor is his first Huge Ten recognition and third honor of his profession.  He was twice named the Missouri Valley Convention Participant of the Week in the course of the 2022-23 season.
