Juan Minaya Discusses In-Home Visit from Alex Mirabal and Confirms Miami Commitment: “There’s No Team I’d Rather Play For”

Miami offensive line coach Alex Mirabal paid a visit to three-star offensive lineman Juan Minaya of Paramus Catholic in New Jersey. Mirabal and Minaya developed a relationship during his sophomore year and his commitment to Miami in March. During Mirabal’s visit, the pair discussed life, football and the program’s plan.

The visit also impressed Minaya’s parents, who lauded Mirabal as a person who genuinely cares and builds relationships with others. Minaya is known as “The Door” due to his large 6’6″, 330lb frame. Throughout his senior year, he focused on improving his running block and believes that work in the weight room has paid off.

Minaya admired the Hurricanes for playing young talent, such as freshman offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa. He also looks forward to joining his fellow 2024 commits next season. The class of 2024 has developed a strong bond, communicating through an iMessage group chat.

Five-star commit Justin Scott, who recently switched his commitment to Miami from Ohio State, has joined the group as well. Although head coach Mariob Cristobal was unable to visit Minaya last week, he plans to visit in the next few weeks. Minaya is committed to Miami and is unlikely to change his decision.
